Box Office Manager
59E59 Theaters is seeking a full-time, experienced Box Office Manager to oversee day-to-day ticketing operations and provide leadership for a small, busy, and good-natured part-time ticket sales staff. Duties include, but are not limited to: ticket sales; communication and enforcement of ticketing policies; daily analysis of ticket sales and trends; communication with third-party sales agents, hiring and training part-time employees; opening and closing the box office, and reconciling box office receipts and cash bank.
Previous Box Office experience of a leadership role in a performing arts environment is required, ideally in the New York area. The preferred applicant is scrupulously punctual, rigorously attentive to detail, devoted to outstanding customer service, adept at creative problem-solving, a quick and accurate learner, professional in appearance and clear in both spoken and written communication. Comfort with computers and office technology – including minor troubleshooting – is essential. Familiarity with web-based ticketing systems is preferred; knowledge of AudienceView is a plus.
This position requires commitment to a full-time, Tuesday through Saturday schedule which will include day, weekend and evening hours. Annual salary is commensurate with experience, and includes sick leave and vacation benefits with the opportunity to participate in the company’s medical and dental benefits plan.

Box Office Associate
59E59 Theaters seeks part-time Box Office Associates for in-person and telephone ticket sales, distributing tickets at will call, and providing exceptional customer service to theater Members, single ticket buyers and visiting theater companies. With great shows, a friendly staff, and a varied and loyal clientele, this is the ideal work environment for the theater enthusiast.
Two positions are available. One requires a commitment to a fixed schedule of weekday afternoons, Monday through Friday, 21 hours per week, with the addition of occasional evening or weekend shifts as needed. These added shifts are negotiable. The second position is a flexible schedule with an emphasis on evenings and weekends.
Previous cash handling and customer service experience is required. Performing-arts box office experience is preferred, particularly with computerized ticketing systems. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, meticulous, aggressively punctual, even-tempered, good-humored, comfortable with technology, professional in appearance and clear in both spoken and written communication.
