The set is on fire.

The flood waters are rising.

The interrogation is starting.

Are we better off asleep?

Three strangers - a devoted son, an Eastern European actress and a Canadian man on the run - awaken to discover they are connected by a mysterious corporation. Faced with lives they no longer recognize, they must confront a shifting reality of secrets, strangers and unmarked doors. In a world in which it's easier to close our eyes, Ken Urban's heart-pounding new play asks: Is it time to wake up?

With Maulik Pancholy (Weeds and 30 Rock), Lori Prince (Sarah, Sarah), Andy Phelan (Milk Milk Lemonade), Dee Nelson (The Heiress on Broadway), Jeff Biehl (The Master Builder), Jocelyn Kuritsky (Burnt Umber) and Miranda Jackel.
Stage Manager: Jessa Nicole Pollack*.

The running time of The Awake is 1 hour and 30 minutes with no intermission.

Please join us after the show on Tuesday September 3rd for a discussion with author, actress and activist Najla Said. The daughter of a prominent Palestinian father and a sophisticated Lebanese mother, Najla Said grew up in New York City, confused and conflicted about her cultural background and identity. Najla's recently released book, Looking For Palestine, is a frank and entertaining memoir about growing up second-generation Arab American.
