Written and Performed by Matthew Schott
Directed by Julia Katz
Refresh is a hilarious chronicle sparing no painful detail of actor Matthew Schott's adolescence, colliding the puberty pains and sexual awakening with the rise of a computer-crazed culture. In his comically poignant performance, he contrasts teen nostalgia with twentysomething uncertainty, asking whether young people can disentangle themselves from their screens.
We are inventors at our core. We seek to take in stories unknown, combine them with vision and action, and bring these experiences to life through performance. Our ensemble strives to pair our own development with that of changing communities. We want to stand among and between states of matter to explore beyond boundaries. Essentially, our purpose is to create innovative, original performance by consistently working together as peers.
We believe in social and economic justice, and this viewpoint guides the work that we select. We want to engage peers in the performance field and neighbors in our community to join with us in this action.
