Ibsen's ROSMERSHOLM centers on the relationship between reluctant rebel John Rosmer and his driven and secretive "friend" Rebecca West, as well as the hypocrisy of the powerful, conservative individuals who interfere with their unconventional union. This new translation/adaptation firmly plants the story into a modern American steeting, as it stays true to Ibsen's exploration of the motivation for John's late wife's suicide and the depth of Rebecca's involvement.
