When an escaped slave shows up at Fort Monroe demanding sanctuary, General Benajmin Butler is faced with an impossible moral dilemma - follow the letter of the law or make a game-changing move that could alter the course of US history?
Based on real-life events, Butler by Richard Strand premieres in New York following an acclaimed world premiere run in New Jersey. "Who knew a play about history could be so much fun?" says Sarasota Herald-Tribune about this powerful comedic-drama that The New York Times called "splendid."
