Written and Performed by Christian Hege
Directed by Jenny Mercein
A story from the 14th Century - one of the darkest times in Europe. Two years of rain. Failed crops, everywhere. Millions dead of starvation.
And two real children, lost in the woods, really afraid they'll be eaten. But the story is even more complex than that.
Christian Hege weaves a fairy tale of famine, devastating loss, and unexpected hope.

Christian Hege (Playwright/Performer) is an epyllionard. Which isn't in the dictionary. But "epyllion" is: a sister to the epic poem, not as long, about mortals maybe, instead of gods. A fairy tale for grownups. This is his third with director Jenny Mercein, after Gryla - Not for Children (Reykjavik Fringe 2021), and Alexander Klaus, the One-Legged Shoemaker Man (59E59, December 2024).

Jenny Mercein (Director) is thrilled to collaborate with Hege on their third show. A theater-maker and storyteller based in New Orleans, she is a proud producer of ROLEPLAY, a play and documentary film (SXSW) in which students redefine the narrative of consent on campus. Recent solo performances include Two Elizas (Luna Stage NJ, Whitefire LA, Mezrab Amsterdam) and her latest ANNA/Christine.
