One year after losing his wife to cancer, Patrick Sullivan is still unable to overcome his overwhelming grief, until a rabbi introduces him to Sukkot - the only Jewish holiday where God directly commands us to rejoice! Suddenly energized with this new purpose, Patrick builds a sukkah (a hut) in their yard and forces his three grown children to celebrate as they return home to attend their mother’s unveiling ceremony.
Sukkot is the hilarious and heartwarming story of a half-Jewish-half-Irish-Catholic family attempting to rejoice by celebrating a holiday that none of them had ever heard of.
Our mission is both to keep the vitally important tradition of classical theatre alive, while also giving life to new plays, striving to make both accessible and exciting to modern audiences. We aim to create experiences that are equal parts enrichment and entertainment, to produce shows that will appeal equally to die-hard Shakespeareans, as well as to those who seek a more modern style. We stage shows that offer fresh takes on timeless stories and new stories with timeless themes. We work passionately and tirelessly to build a creative community that fosters artistic risk, intelligence and inclusivity.
